There's a 99% chance that when someone says TAG Part One is bad, they suffer from a skill issue. This DLC isn't meant for newcomers or casuals, and I wouldn't have it any other way. This DLC very smoothly ups the difficulty by throwing more enemies at you, giving you harder areas to traverse while fighting, and introducing new, extremely tough enemies. DOOM Eternal is a game that gets better and better the harder it is, so by nature, this DLC is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ amazing. Rather than thinking of it as a DLC separated from the main game, think of it as a direct continuation of not only the story of Eternal, obviously, but also as a direct continuation of the main game's gameplay and difficulty. This DLC starts at the level of difficulty that you'll find in the final level of the main game, and ramps up from there. Other than the fantastic gameplay, you've got some awesome set pieces, pretty good OST, although I miss the hell outta Mick Gordon, and even more lore reveals. While still pretty messy and contradictory, all of the lore pieces start to come together here. Bits and pieces that were teased and hinted at all the way in DOOM 2016 are answered, or begin to be answered. As what may very well be the first part of the conclusion to Doomguy's story as the Doom Slayer, you don't wanna miss this one, or it's second and final part. I would without a doubt recommend this DLC for anyone who absolutely adored the main game, and is open to a real challenge fit for a true Slayer. 9/10

👍 Good
Solid expansion that increases the challenge, but never quite reaches the highs of the base game. Worth a shot for most people who enjoyed Doom Eternal, but beware the difficulty. PROS: - Some interesting new enemies and mechanics - Solid value, taking around 5 hours to complete CONS: - Some new mechanics stand out in a really bad way
Gameplay wise there is not anything new except for 3 new enemy types and 2 new bosses but basically offers more levels if you wanted more content beyond the main campaign.
👎 Bad
there's challenging, and then there's annoying and tedious. also the story is bad
this dlc sucks it was specifically designed to waste your time long elevators you have to take every death dying FORCES you to either, A quit the game and start it back up (somehow the faster option) or sit in silence for 20 seconds it also uses number difficulty instead of mechanics difficulty which is really boring spoilers from here on out the reveal that samuel hayden is the seraphim just feels lazy, no buildup to it and no reason why we should care, just one more reason to hate samuel the writing is horrible aswell with us sparing samuel cause vega said "pweaseeee?" the ending doesn't make much sense with us reviving davoth and then just like.. leaving WITH him? there was only one way to get in and out of the room so i guess they just walked out holding hands also the samuel hayden bossfight is just the icon of sin but worse buy part 2 instead skip part 1 you won't miss out on literally anything
Buggy mess, with barely any story.
