Unsure why other reviews are horrible, the DLC is actually pretty nice. Adding a brand new major mechanic, and the focus trees are pretty good. It's also on sale right now (as of June 2026).

i only got this for the portugal focus path at first and to be fair it should be in the base game in the first place but more to add its a very good addition to hoi4 because of the spy stuff and the new stuff for Spain and france too. a few paths ill mention to support you getting this dlc i hope Portugal: United Kingdom of Portugal and Brazil Fifth Empire of Portugal Spain: Anarchist Spain Carlist Spain France: Napoleonic France literally any of the kingdom paths overall like an 9/10

I quite like this DLC. France, Spain and Portugal are all nations that I have played and enjoyed and the new agency mechanic is extremely cool. HOWEVER !! The French focus tree is an abomination of 70 day focus's and the Spanish Civil War is cool but any of the other paths (Directory, Monarchist, Anarchist) all involve a 4 way civil war turning Spain into a bowl of spaghetti which I don't like. Those paths are the only fun ones and I have 1000 hours in the game and still struggle with establishing the Directory which shouldn't really be THAT hard but having to fight 3 more powerful nations is difficult and not fun. Despite those flaws you can still have fun establishing the French Monarchy back or forming the Kingdom of Brazil-Portugal or spying on your enemies. This is a solid DLC but PARADOX FFS FIX FRANCE
