Coming to EU4 from Total War and Civilization series, I was blown away by the complexity and depth of its campaign map, diplomacy, national ideas and the various possibilities that the game may play out. EU4 really does feel like a grand strategy game and I am just learning its ways. The main reason for a negative review is the fact that the only reason I'm getting this DLC is due to becoming a vassal of France due to a royal wedding and being unable to break free from them, due to their and their allies massive military might. This expansion offers an option to ask neighbouring nations to support your for of independence, allowing me to (hopefully) break free and continue the campaign as an independent nation. While I perfectly understand, welcome and respect Paradoxes decision to make multiple DLCs to add more content and depth to the game, I do feel like such a core game feature is an absolute must to be added to the base game as a free addition. As it is, I just paid $21.50 for a single button. :/

the price for this DLC now is simply atrocious, even with 50% discount. what the heck, PDX raise the price of its DLC to that of a game, and raising price of old games as well. True, this DLC is one of few that you actually notice some changes. still, this DLC policy is appalling and should not be supported by loyal fans. We have ignored or even accepted day1 bugs and glithes of half finished games/dlcs from PDX for far too long, and now they pull this on the loyal fan base? I dont think so. IF the price is lower, then you can get it. As it stands now, it s simply too expensive. the price of this DLC is almost the same as Factorio. the newer DLCs become increasingly like a UI improvement. Come to think of it, I dont know which DLC policy is worse, Sega or PDX.
