This game is great! Starts of like you have to actually spell words then rapidly devolves into utter nonsense of putting together broken builds to get past increasingly unfair challenges. And there's delightful hidden stuff you discover as you play. Highly recommend.

👍 Good
This is one of the most degenerate word games I have ever played, along with one of the most degenerate counting games and chess games I have ever played. Really easy to get absorbed into, satisfying gameplay loops, charming presentation. The demo gives you more than enough to decide if it's for you or not.
160 hours to 100% it, felt like 30. I want more. The absurdity of end game build felt like the score counter would blind me, I loved it.
👎 Bad
The game is good until you start getting more pieces and symbols involved, Cleared the first three character wins first try and now I can't win with the character that introduces the chess pieces because there's just too many factors at play now and the chess builds are basically useless the entire time. I've literally done over 10 attempts straight, followed the advice of the character in the shop, and I just die regardless because I cannot foresee the future and know that my entire buidl is going to be useless in 4 boss fights. Now, it's just pure RNG to win and just hope that the final boss encounter doesn't just counter your entire build you've spent over 30 minutes building. I have had this happen over 5 straight times in a row, so you know skill isn't really a factor in this game but RNG. This game needs to separate its mechanics like the chess pieces, numbers, etc. and have it only show up on specific characters, kind of like choosing a different deck in Balatro. Sadly, when all of these things are thrown together at once, it actually just makes it so overly difficult to win and not in a fun way. I thought this game had huge potential but the further you go, the lazier the design gets and the more unpolished it becomes. Genuine shame.
As the game says, the words don't matter so it's not a scrabble game that challenge your knowledge of words/letters. It is strictly a numbers go up game, and not a particularly challenging one. Most characters have a handful of useful items, and certain combos are just straight up better than everything else. I would have given it a "medium" score if possible.
Characters are cute, but quickly become annoying, though you can mute them in the options, I think. Bought this because I love playing Boggle and I saw them playing it on Game Grumps. Way more complicated than I wanted. Don't miss any explanations about the rules; you can't look them up in-game if you do, I was scratching my head about the numbers showing up after I either went to fast or didn't parse the explanation. You'll either have to turn to a guide or replay everything up till that point. Once the numbers got involved, this game lost me. They're not lying; "the words don't matter." So if they matter to you, don't bother. Too late to refund, but I won't play this again.
