BioShock Remastered completely lived up to the hype. I loved the gameplay from start to finish, and exploring the world never stopped being fun. I ended up getting the good ending, and honestly, it had me tearing up it was such a wholesome and satisfying way to end the journey. Easily one of the best games I've played

👍 Good
This game is held very close to my heart, I played way back when i was young lad and ever since then ive been such a big fan of the games. Ive rebought all bioshocks atleast 4 times over and played them all over many more times than that. If there was ever a series more deserving of the title "masterpiece" it would be bioshock.
Man, the story is really nice, combat is really ok, the only things I feel bad about are the random technical antics (like needing to change the game window from windowed to borderless every time I opened the game and the fact that I had to open it from the game files to turn on subtitles) and Take Two's ♥♥♥♥♥♥ practices. Note: Never skip on listening to the audio tapes, especially the late game ones, lost some story beats because I ignored them.
👎 Bad
Honestly? Didn't age super well. I have fond memories of it, but it's a game I enjoy thinking about more than playing. The first half of it is... okay. The second half just throws wave after wave of the same, like, four incredibly tanky enemies to waste your ammo while you go on random fetch quests to extend the playtime. I genuinely love this game's story and setting, but every time I play it I like it less.
Not for me. I gave thia game about 5 hours because I wanted to give it a fair chance. Unfortunately, it never clicked. The atmosphere and setting are interesting, but the gameplay felt repetitive. A huge portion of my time was spent searching every room for supplies, backtracking, taking research photos, hacking machines, and looking for the next objective. Even after unlocking all the weapons and several Plasmids, the combat never became exciting enough to keep me engaged. The biggest issue for me was that the game feels dated. I also encountered multiple bugs where I became trapped in rooms and couldn't progress without reloading an earlier save, which became frustrating. The save system didn't make those situations any better. I understand why this game is considered a classic. The story, world-building, and atmosphere are clearly what many people love about it. But if you're looking for a fast-paced shooter or you don't enjoy constantly scavenging for items and exploring every corner, this may not be the game for you. I don't regret trying it, but it wasn't worth the money for me, and I won't be continuing with BioShock 2 Remastered or BioShock Infinite. they will be collecting more of digital dust in my library
Bioshock is a linear, repetitive FPS game and every person that exists in the game universe has an obsession with leaving tape recorder diaries scattered everywhere. Plasmid powers really don't do anything interesting except for the few that interact with the environment like fire and electricity. Hacking is basically mandatory and extremely boring and repetitive. The camera minigame that allows you to research enemies for a damage boost absolutely sucks and just leads to you spamming the camera flash nonstop on every enemy you see. Enemies are repetitive and not at all fun to fight. This remaster is full of broken effects, broken textures, and bugs that didn't exist in the original, and the only reason I played it instead of the original Bioshock is because I used the 'Stability Patches And Bugs Fixes' mod that alleviates most of the issues. The original PC port of Bioshock is anything but great, but it has superior lighting, water effects, and shadows compared to the remaster, I can't recommend this.
