Best gameplay in the series, a good story in the main game, and an amazing one in the DLC. The only downside was the constant crashes that made me lose hours of progress

👍 Good
This was a really good game. "Exactly how good is it?" you're probably wondering. ... Well, it's good enough that I was willing to finish it and leave a positive review even though the game crashed about every five minutes. Exaggerations aside, the game crashed about 15-20 times during my playthrough. I learned to save every few minutes, but still had to redo several sections. I was surprised since the first game ran perfectly, but this one was a mess. If I hadn't been enjoying it so much between the crashes, I would have given it up long before the ending. Anyway, other than performance, it's a great game. It's very similar to the first one, so anyone who appreciates the first will enjoy the second. There are a few small tweaks that I appreciated, such as hacking being less tedious and just having general slots for non-plasma powers, as opposed to the different categories seen in the first game. This series also does environment and settings very well. I love the level designs, the different secrets and routes to discover, and the pieces of lore along the way. I still recommend this game, but if frequent crashes aren't your thing, it might be worth checking out the non-remastered version. Not sure if that one runs better.
BioShock 2 Remastered took everything I loved about the first game and somehow made it even better. I loved playing as Subject Delta, and Eleanor quickly became one of my favorite characters in the series. I spent half the game thinking Sinclair was going to betray me, but instead he ended up being one of the best characters across both games. The ending genuinely had me tearing up with joy, and I just sat there smiling and shocked at the same time through the credits. My only complaint is that I wish the game was longer because I wasn't ready for it to end. What an incredible experience. The first Bioshock felt like a horror movie while the second Bioshock felt more like a tragedy.
👎 Bad
i love this game but it is unplayable , crashes every time to the point that i had to save like every 3-5 mins , lost hours of progress due to a glitch , worst gaming experience i have ever had
I 100% completed this remaster for a YouTube video, but I can't recommend anyone play this because of the frequent crashing. It is beyond fustrating. I had the game crash 4 times in about 10 minutes. I had to redo a full area of the game because my save file would crash the game. This remaster also does the bare minimum. No modern auto-saving and it sometimes has glitchly text. The only thing changed from the original release is the 4K textures and removal of mutiplayer. If you're looking to play Bioshock 2, play the original.
You have to save all the time to prevent loss of your game progress as the game crashes frequently.
