Worked fine on the steam machine and with the steam controller, however there was at least two crashes I experienced so as always remember to save often. Short version: 7.3/10, loved the water, Dionysus Park was my favorite area. Would say its ironic that the movies plan for this series haven't been fully developed, people would enjoy the story and the connection between Delta and Eleanor. Achievementwise - 15-30 hours to 100%. Its doable would recommend two playthroughs First one easy for the story and collectables then the hardest. There is no new game plus so you start fresh everytime, but you can easy speedrun through it. The remastered doesn't have multiplayer achievements so keep this in mind on if you wanna play the og version or this one. There is one missable! The protector trails is a bit grindy so I say take a break before playing both dlcs, since both together is like 8-10 hours depends on the skill level you have during the trails. Longer/word vomit version: Spoiler warning for both BioShock 1 and 2. Definitely an amazing sequel, since it stays in line with the first game. when you learn the behind the scenes during the development time, you will understand how neat it was that we even got an good game knowing there was different management involved. Storywise its pretty good nothing too crazy and still leaves you some ideas to ponder about. They right all in with the Little Sisters and Big Daddys plot, which was continue to get interesting. And while the level design of saving about three lil sis and then protecting them when they drain adam in every area was fun and a was smooth returning challenge from the bioshock 1, it gets old towards the end. Its also in both dlcs which doesn't help knowing it slows down the gameplay in some was. There are tonics to help speed this up which is a +1. I will say Bioshock 2 is not as spooky as the first. Its not itll a bit before Dionysus park that the game brought back the sparkle. I for one was starting to get bored out of my mind, especially with how once again the "boss" battles are dull. For example I didn't register that I was fighting the preacher till the end of the fight because he look like every other splicer, since I was just speeding along to find the next audio log. Side note I think the audio logs were done amazingly like , they gave you way more lore, in sight of the people's lives and all the downfalls Rapture experienced. A good example is how they finally example how the chambers worked in the first game adding to more connection between the two games. Once Lamb floods the church area, the air of the game changes for good. One reason for me is that it brought back the wonder and awe in how Andrew Ryan was able to not only think of how to build rapture but how he convinced all these different and smart minded people into living there and to continue alot of their life's works there too. Visually this part is cool and yes its because of the water dynamics and the use of it to keep the story moving on. The fact that knowing water doesn't hurt our mc, but was still able to be use to created challenges shows how creative this game is. Keep in mind, the whole time we physically have control over Delta, he keeps his helmet and allows the UI to let us be emerge with how Daddys see the world through, and the design doesn't get in the way since it only borders slightly. Back to the flooding scene, I will say the screaming coming from the enemies, while the water raises and seeing a splicer on the ceiling actually panic with dialogue lines added so much to the scariness of the event. The sound quality of Bioshock 2 is top tier if not one of the best in video games ever. Even underwater sessions are good, like you get to hear the suit clanking around and the difference in breathing by where you are. You also hear the clink sounds of when the water drops hit the suit. With the loading screens you can sit there and listen to the songs fully play out before hitting the continue button, some songs fit in line with theme the area is suppose to be. Being a lil sister was neat since we get to see the world through their eyes and how the successful the scientist were to blocking out the cruelness of the reality so that the lil sisters stay working vs freaking out over what they were really doing. For example blood trails are changed to rose petal trails, and everywhere is ballroom, warmed lighted, and clean like. I will say I wish we could have seen more of the big sister transformations, even though its the same the Big daddy's. Hacking is alot better in this game compare to the first, but I think bioshocks hacking mini was more in tune lookwise towards the world. Endings wise, pretty decent your choices matter. Seeing how Eleanor will treat Sofia Lamb base on your choices was neat. Kinda confused to why we was on the outside while they was in the inside but to does add to the whats happening factor. There are a few people who didn't get really mention leaving that open to imagination. Sinclair's ending while sad also didn't impact me since he didn't really do anything gamewise other than tell us what the next task is or in my case repeat the same dialogue the other npcs told me to do but I wanted to explore a bit more. Dlcs wise Minerva's Den is a great addition to the series lore and has a good ending towards its own story. The Protector Trials in I didn't care for since its just combat, however its decent for the people who just wants shoot stuff basically a little randomizer.

👍 Good
Not as memorable as the first BioShock, but the gameplay is better and playing as a Big Daddy is genuinely fun. The story has some strong moments, but Rapture doesn’t feel as fresh the second time around. My biggest issue with the remaster is the frequent crashes, which can get really frustrating. 7.5/10
Playing as a Big Daddy with a drill arm sounds amazing on paper, but BioShock 2 is a bit of a mixed bag. The combat is definitely a massive upgrade over the first game. Being able to dual-wield plasmids and weapons makes fights so much smoother, and defending Little Sisters while setting up traps is pretty fun for a while. The problem is the rest of the game. The story just lacks the shock value and atmosphere of the original. Sofia Lamb is honestly a pretty boring villain compared to Andrew Ryan, and the Little Sister defense sections get very repetitive by the halfway point. Also, quick warning for the Remastered port: it still crashes to desktop randomly, so save constantly. Solid gameplay and the Minerva's Den DLC is fantastic, but it never quite reaches the heights of the first game.
👎 Bad
Love this game, but unfortunately the remastered version is not really "remastered" as save files can easily be corrupted. Game is fine, but you'll have to save every 5-10 minutes manually unless you want to risk losing a save file to corruption which happened to me. Doubt they'd fix it anytime soon, but losing 3-4 hours worth of progress because a save file corruption is enough for me to not recommend this game. Stick with the original Bioshock 2, not the remastered
The game crashes approximately every 30 minutes. Sometimes you have a good run without crashes for nearly an hour, the other day it crashes every few minutes. The game only saves if you enter a new chapter, which can lead to losing hours of progress if the game suddenly crashes. I would have loved to play this game to the end, but I'm running out of patience. The amount of crashes with no fixes is no fun. What a shame.
Solid game bad port the game keep crashing at the last chapter idk why I had to play 2 hours twice just for the game to crash and for some reason there is no auto save so you have to guess when the game is going to crash to manually save the game After saving the game you might think you can start the game after it crashes an play again right ? Nooo!!! its going to crash again
