If you like Zombies is fun, only buy on sale. muiltiplayer is stock Cod. Campaign is mehhh. Mainly zombies is what I play for if your not a zombies fan don't pick this one up. For modern zombies it's alright high rounds are a joke, mini boss spam very predominant and vertical progession kinda kills the fun. Note: I consider myself a classic zombies purist. I prefer the lateral forms of progession like in Bo3. Think in a having a (Tool Box) instead of 3 Pac tiers, 5 types of weapon rarity and no perk limt which Bo6 offers. Pretty middle of the row game all up. 5.5/10

👍 Good
The campaign is very good, but it suffers all of the problems Cold War had when it comes to campaign. The multiplayer is....stimulating it's stupid it has so much random skins, but aside from that it's pretty okay. The zombies is fun, but there is only a few maps that are good and is nothing compared to Cold War zombies. Though this game is MILES better than Black Ops 7. You should get it, but on a discount
Back in the day, Treyarch games were everything. Black Ops 1, to this day, remains my all time favorite, not just Call of Duty, but video game ever. Black Ops 2 was where Treyarch did their absolute best work ever, being the Call of Duty I believe to be the most well rounded in franchise history. Black Ops 3 was where my love for the zombies mode in Call of Duty, rightfully, peaked, giving us a zombies entry that will more than likely stand at the top of the mountain for the rest of COD history. But nowadays, things are much different. Black Ops 6 is very complicated. On launch, I really thought this game was going to be an absolute heater. I don't buy COD yearly now. Since the days of BO4, the only reason I have to grab a new COD is if it has zombies (aside from Vanguard), or in MWIII's (2023) case, if it has zombies AND it's on sale, so this review will be from an almost exclusive zombies player perspective. I had seen the marketing, I had watched the gameplay trailers and read the blog posts, I played and (somewhat) enjoyed the beta... After 6 years of no excitement, I was finally ready for a Black Ops game again. And at launch, I had a damn good time. Liberty Falls was just okay. At best, I'll give it that it's a good map to grind zombies camos on. It's the exact reason why they constantly tout it as "the most played zombies map ever." LF was truly the bonus map of BO6. Nothing special about it. But Terminus was the real reason I bought this game, and honestly, I feel like it delivered in spades as a launch map. Great atmosphere, new special enemy and wonder weapon, some great side easter eggs, and a main easter egg and boss fight that really set the tone for the coming year. Additionally, I liked the Augments system this game uses, as well as bringing back Gobblegums (even though they're rarely used outside of challenges and easter eggs), Directed Mode was something great for new players and the prestige rewards this year were a really great incentive to keep progressing prestiges, which most game don't have. Overall, a great launch... but the problem of Black Ops 6 lied much more in its post launch because Treyarch does not know how to make a live service game as we know it in 2025. None of the devs under the Activision umbrella do. I hate to say it because Activision is already greedy as is, but I really do think a more structured, DLC driven game is the best way to make a Call of Duty, because doing whatever the hell IW, SHG & Treyarch have been doing since 2019 does. not. work. especially from a zombies perspective. Between February 1, 2025 and August 1, 2025, there was ONE zombies map released. ONE. A 6 month period where ONE NEW MAP DROPPED, and on top of that, August was when the final map dropped, so that's another 3 months between August to November for BO7s release that also has no map or meaningful content added. Just going weeks and weeks and weeks without any content that won't get stale after 1 game on a LIVE SERVICE game. Back during the days of, say BO2, they didn't delay Mob of the Dead to add the Turned game mode. It was just added alongside Die Rise and still Mob released two and a half months later. Multiplayer is just as bad from the outside looking in. The game launched with an awful multiplayer map pool and then they had to wait month after month for 1, MAYBE 2 maps to hopefully fix that. And don't get me started on not adding modes like Gun Game or ANY party modes on launch. Post launch, there were some okay zombies maps. In my opinion, they never hit the high that Terminus did at launch. I know others feel differently about maps like Citadelle des Morts, Shattered Veil and Reckoning (I'd say these 3 range from mid B- high C tier, with The Tomb being in it's own category at the very, very bottom), but to me, something that plagued this entire games post launch was the constant reuse of.. well, damn near everything. It really felt like 95% of what was added after launch (and even a bit at launch to be fair, especially on Liberty Falls) was just reused, reused, reused, to the point where it made BO4 zombies, the game with 4 straight up re-imaginings of previous maps and wonder weapons and enemies, feel wholly original (slightly exaggerating). Perks, wonder weapons, enemies, field upgrades & Gobblegums... reused, reused, reused, reused & reused, if not from past games, just from past maps on this same game. I'm not saying NOTHING from past games can come back, but when it's damn near EVERYTHING being recycled for this game, that's when it becomes a problem. It'd be like if every BO2 map had Brutus and if for absolutely no reason, the wonder weapon on Origins was the Wunderwaffe. The unoriginality was most definitely felt this year. All of that on top of 2/6 seasons having no new map, Grief being brought back in the most horrendously un-playtested fashion imaginable, LTMs that had absolutely no effort put into them just to disappear after a few weeks anyway, no super easter egg reward or boss rush mode and constant events to give the illusion that something is going on, but in reality are either 6-8 challenges you can complete in one 25 round game or a week long kill/point leaderboard, with the only rewards being Gobblegums and an AI generated emblem. In my opinion, as a year, November 2024 - November 2025, Black Ops 6 was a bad year to be actively playing zombies. Not the worst year, but no where near the best either. The problem is that COD devs wait until the full years cycle is over to give you a game worth a damn, but by that time, most of the players either dipped while there was barely anything new to do or are going to dip to the next game that will inevitably be out the following October/November. Sure, a year after launch now that all the maps are out and the additional permanent modes are added and there's 3 billions guns to use, now the game is worth playing, but now it doesn't matter because everyone already has or is very shortly going to be moving on. The problem is, despite having a pretty bad active year, I do recommend Black Ops 6 specifically for zombies fans NOW because the singular upside to these modern CODs using the live service model instead of DLCs is that once you buy the game, you have everything. You get all the maps, weapons, unlockables, challenges.. everything, and for a SALE PRICE (DO NOT BUY THIS GAME AT FULL PRICE), having ALL the content this game ended with is worth it for players who might've skipped out on BO6 because they were sick of modern COD games to me. And one last note, ♥♥♥♥ you Activision or Treyarch or whoever is to blame for making zombies online only. That 15 minute pause timer is the worst thing you've ever done to any zombies mode ever, and Vanguard zombies exists. If you have bad internet, disregard everything I said and don't buy this.
👎 Bad
They literally ruined the game just to force the new one down our throats. Deleting the 24/7 Nuketown and Stakeout playlists the second the new game dropped is the scummiest corporate move possible. They purposefully gutted the most popular modes to make this game feel dead, all because they want us to shell out another $70 for the new title. I bought this game to play those small maps. Taking them away permanently is pure anti consumer trash. Don't buy this or any of their games.
whoevers idea it was to make this game online only is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ moronic ♥♥♥♥♥♥, cant even play single player without lagging becasue of the poorly optimised texture streaming taking up all the internet
I only care for zombies in COD games. -The maps are way too expansive for little reason as most areas feel devoid of purpose, and they aren't that interesting to explore. -Multiplayer is dead as can be. -Performance is in no way stable and frames fluctuate constantly -Killing zombies isn't satisfying cause they have really cartoony movement, and shots don't feel impactful. Very heavy arcade feel -ONLY 6 MAPS, which is a problem when they all suck Very bland zombies experience
