It adds the big space monsters and the enclaves which are nice. The sun eater squid is cool becuse you can use the eggs to kill stars of AI empires which is fun I got it on sale for like $7 AUD so can't really complain as for the cost the stuff it adds I use often enough

I forgot that much of this wasn't already in the vanilla game. One of the must have $10 DLCs IMO. I like that it populates the galaxy with mini-boss type enemies and that it gives you neutral traders to interact with, which helps add variety to the early and mid game. Some of the more unique traders, like the Curators and the Artists add reliable bonuses into the late game as well. More buttons to press in my map game
