This free game capitalizes on the expertise of this point-and-click escape puzzle developer, delivering an experience that feels like being immersed in a live-action short film. However, the free portion only includes Chapter 1; to understand Chapter 2, you'll need to purchase and play the Chapter 2 DLC. This review covers the first chapter. The game takes approximately two hours to complete. The occasional live-action footage adds a nice touch. The game exudes a creepy and dreary atmosphere throughout, and there are several jump scares, so horror fans should be wary. (However, the jump scares are considered to be on the low side, so unless you have a very low tolerance for horror, it should be fine.) Control the protagonist, who wakes up in a strange room, explore the room, solve puzzles, and attempt to escape. The protagonist has memory loss, and the player must gather evidence of a murder, without fully understanding the circumstances. As a puzzle, it's not that difficult, but I was quickly drawn in, and as the mystery deepened I immediately wanted to play Chapter 2. For a free game experience, I think it's great that you can be fully immersed in the puzzles for two hours. There are 28 achievements in total across Chapters 1 and 2, so I only unlocked six by clearing Chapter 1 in one playthrough. That leaves the hidden achievements in Chapter 1 and the achievements from Chapter 2. Chapter 2 is reasonably priced at 350 yen, and is sometimes sold at 44% off, so be sure to check.
