If you dont take Resident Evil Resistance too seriously or expect it to feel like a full single-player Resident Evil game, its actually pretty fun and works well as fan service for the franchise. Its probably a great time with friends in a private lobby, although there is one major downside right now... matchmaking can sometimes take around ten minutes.

👍 Good
Honestly, got me through the COVID period, this game is so underrated, and if it had only gotten the love and appreciation it deserved. It would be one of the top multiplayer horror's out there, but alas :(
Rating: 7.4/10 Resident Evil Resistance is an asymmetrical multiplayer survival game set in the Resident Evil universe, where four survivors must work together to escape a series of deadly experiments while a fifth player takes on the role of the Mastermind. Survivors explore interconnected areas, solve objectives, collect resources, and fight off hordes of bio-organic weapons, while the Mastermind strategically places traps, summons creatures, and manipulates the environment to prevent their escape. The game blends cooperative action, resource management, and competitive strategy into a unique multiplayer experience. The game's asymmetrical gameplay, recognizable Resident Evil atmosphere, and varied cast of survivors and Masterminds provide exciting and unpredictable matches when teams are evenly balanced. Coordinating with teammates and adapting to different Mastermind strategies creates rewarding moments of tension and replayability. However, inconsistent balancing, matchmaking issues, and a declining player base can make finding enjoyable matches difficult. Despite these shortcomings, Resident Evil Resistance is a worthwhile choice for players who enjoy asymmetrical multiplayer games, cooperative survival, and strategic PvP experiences within the Resident Evil franchise.
👎 Bad
Really fun and great game, that I will keep playing until nobody plays anymore. One of the best asym games that is sadly ruined by Capcom refusing to support it. People straight up cheating, abusing lag and many rage quitters. Under all this there is also a fun game with very unique gameplay and great graphics and voice lines, making games like dbd, Texas chainsaw massacre, feel amateurish in comparison. Most of the community is also very kind and helpful, expert the bad apples of course.
This game is essentially unplayable, which is ironic for a game about the living dead. It comes included with the remakes, but you cannot actually join a session. The matchmaking screen leads nowhere, even after waiting for ten minutes. The game is completely dead. The main menu immediately introduces loot boxes, which is frustrating if you prefer the straightforward multiplayer design of older gems like Left 4 Dead or the 2009 Modern Warfare 2. Because the servers are empty, the tutorial is the only accessible part of the game. This is the most disappointing aspect, as the character movement and physics feel excellent. These solid mechanics at least indicate that the gameplay in Resident Evil 2 and 3 remakes should be high quality. Ultimately, the game is a waste of potential. Downloading 25 gigabytes of data just to sit in an empty lobby is a frustrating waste of time. Even as a free inclusion, the inability to experience the actual game is a major letdown.
Played 1 match and it was janky af. I'd rather see Capcom try to make a 4 player co-op Resident Evil using a similar mission structure like Left 4 Dead than an asymmetric horror game.
